Programme Brief

In manufacturing product for automotive sectors, the number of jig and fixtures required are four times higher than mould and die. This is due to the highly usage of these tools in production, inspection and assembly to achieve the repeatability and accuracy of the product

This program focuses on the design and manufacturing of jig & fixture for automotive industry. Students will experience the complete cycle of design and manufacturing process in this program that gives them
an added advantage, using real manufacturing machines.

It covers all the processes related to the design and development of jig and fixture. With this the student is exposed to various types of skills
namely processing, design and managerial skills which allows them to work efficiently at all stages of work process.

Programme Brief

The Machine Tools Maintenance programme is driven by a number of factors, including the migration from manual to CNC machine tools,higher production rates and higher quality requirements in which reducing machine tool downtime and assuring quality have become increasingly important as the demand for higher production rates and closer tolerances continues to grow.

Other than learning about how each part of the machine functions in relation to the overall machine process, the students will be equipped to develop and conduct a preventative maintenance programme that will maximize the machine tool performance.

The programme will also cover the standard services that includes a thorough inspection of the machine’s key components and mechanical systems for which the graduates will perform tasks such as maintenance, cleaning, tightening and lubrication of the mechanical and electrical components. The comprehension of the entire infrastructure of machine tools will allow the graduate to earn the competency in comprehensive machine maintenance and repairing services.

Programme Brief

The Industrial Quality Management programme focuses on the knowledge and skills aspects in the field of inspection and quality management required by the industry. The program aims to produce skilled, competitive, scientifically-minded, creative, competent, and capable human resources in solving quality issues and problems at a workplace.

The program develop students with the key skills in the field of quality such as aspects of planning, implementation, checking and corrective action on the problems faced by the industry in achieving their targets. Students are exposed to the standard systems as well as continuous improvement methods based on Total Quality Management (TQM). In addition to study basic courses, students are also exposed with knowledge and skills in the field of calibration, geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing inspection, standards, auditing and analytical aspects.

Programme Brief

Manufacturing System is a programme that emphasizes the interrelationships between manufacturing equipment, processes and controls, and their integration into production factories. The combination of technological knowledge of high-tech production systems and knowledge of production processes is essential for manufacturing organizations to be efficient, innovative and sustainable in the increasingly competitive markets.

Based upon these challenges, this programme was developed to provide students with a broad knowledge, skills and attitude to perform tasks in designing, implementation, and efficient operation of manufacturing systems. Among the main technologies that will be used are robotics, programmable logic controllers, computer-integrated manufacturing and their application in automated production, assembly, automated inspection, and automated packaging.

Programme Brief

The students of the CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Precision Technology (CPT) programme are prepared on how to programme CNC machines for accuracy and precision. The computer software programmes will be used to design parts and create programmes used on CNC machines performing production runs and job set-ups in a manufacturing environment.

The students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of fundamental manufacturing methods, industrial processes and safe use of equipment as well as determine common programming codes and program format.
